Welcome to Art Distance

I’m Hannah, an art historian based in London. I curate travel recommendations for lovers of art, heritage, and gardens.

About Art Distance

I moved to London nearly 10 years ago to study art history at the Courtauld Institute of Art, where I earned an MA in Russian Modernism and researched embroidery workshops of Ukraine. I now teach History of Art at A level.

Meanwhile, I have spent the years exploring the charming corners of London, seeking out the quirky house museums, peaceful gardens and quiet neighbourhoods of the city. I have a knack for finding the most beautiful spots, and I love sharing them with my readers.

I love to travel, and my destinations are always motivated by my love for art and heritage.

I believe that art and culture travel should be accessible, and not limited to a luxury experience. I have an eye for beauty, but also the budget of a teacher, and so my recommendations are usually affordable and authentic. I try to avoid gimmicks and places made for Instagram.

Sometimes I’ll take you off the beaten path, and sometimes we’ll stay on it. No matter what, I will find what is worth seeing, and connect you with the artistic soul of each place.

Travel and Art Writing

I love to write for other publications about art exhibitions, interior design, gardens, and artistic destinations.

I take high-quality, beautiful photographs wherever I visit, which can accompany my writing.

I am a contributor to Cabana Magazine, a design-focused publication.

Please reach out if you are interested in a commissioning an article with an art and design focus.

Brand and Tourism Board Collaborations

I work with arts institutions to promote exhibitions, museums, and art travel destinations. I also love to recommend design-focused hotels and restaurants to my audience in London, the UK and abroad.

Please reach out below if you are interested in working together.
